Technology, Don't You Love It?...Sometimes!

Good Gosh! After literally almost two weeks of internet, email and website problems...which are STILL NOT fixed, I'm able to get on using my netbook...which is VERY limited! I can't BEGIN to explain the procedures that I have to go throught just to get pictures up! Please bear with me!

When technology is "down for the count" you don't realize just how much you miss it. Imagine back in the late 80's-early 90's saying..."Wait a minute gotta answer my cell." what did we do then, run to the nearest corded phone or ...remember these things...a PHONE BOOTH!

Lately, when I have the time, I REALLY try to make time, I do!,we started watching TCM Turner Classic Movies, no joke, we really like watching them...of course after Ice Road Truckers (seriously, YUCK! sorry Mark) I find myself wondering what would they think of a cellphone or computer? Gone with The Wind was on again the other night...scene: wagon in middle of burning town falling down around them, change the script to todays standards..."Here Scarlet, got a few bars left, call Rhett and get us out of this inferno!" while Mark is saying (very loudly might I add with excitement like we can reach in and grab it) "Check-out that table in the background!"

Sometimes I long for the days when things weren't so complicated, when you actually talked, wrote by snail mail and even visited a friend for the afternoon.

Well, talk about finding time, I've been so busy getting ready for my upcoming 3 day show that I need a 28hr day instead of 24! I would like to share with you some of my goodies that i will be offering, I've been hard at work!

Here's a bench that me and Mark made from a twin headboard and footboard...Love the fluffy cushion!

One of my favorite things to create are broken china mosaics. Here's a pie crust tilt top table that my mom found at a yardsale for $5, hopefully it looks like a lot more now!

Some, not pink, but shabby autumn anyways, my version of a pumpkin with a little bling!

with all the problems happening with my internet and email, I hope to get back on for Pink Saturday, it's been awhile! Hope everyone has a wonderfull fall day! I love this time of year...pretty leaves falling from the trees and cooler weather!

Every year I start painting, mosaics and sewing for PHYSICAL shows up until Christmas...right now I'm getting ready for my first Fall show at the Edison Convention Center in North Jersey, it's a THREE day show! whewww!

Here are a few pics of my booth from last year, taken by a cellphone, sorry for the quality!

My hubby and I own our own portable booth, actually, he made it!

Remember this...

Well, here she is all made up with a matching bench that I found and ready for this years show...

Look at all the cottage patch-strip stockings hanging in my workroom waiting for bows...

Not to mention a sea of lovely pretty cottage Harvest pillows...

Remember the birdie condo that I found put at the curb?

Sweet Birdie House Find...Happy B-day Alyssa!

What a looooooooong week it has been! I will say, I did get plenty of projects finished, for my booth and a HUGE convention center show in October that I'm in (lots to work towards!).

A HUGE Happy 21st Birthday to my daughter Alyssa, actually it's tomorrow, but I'll be away most of the day at a breast cancer auction/fundraiser event, Love you!

"I have this little angel. For me she left her wings.
She has no idea how much happiness she truly brings.
She brightens up my days with her smiles and her laughs.
She helps me to remember all the blessings that I have.

I know that God must love me, He showed me with His Grace
I knew just how completely when I saw my angel's face.
And in that very moment when she came into my world,
I knew that she was so much more than just my baby girl.

She would be my sunshine, with a sweetness that won't end.
And when she grows up one day she would be my closest friend."

All I can say is this old birdhouse is AWESOME!!
This sweet thing was sitting out at the road (curb)all by it's lonesome...had to have it...but it was way too big for me to pick-up and toss into my SUV all by my self.

Bye for now, hoping, crossing my fingers and praying NOBODY would snatch her up before my hubby came home from work. "Not until dark, you know I don't like picking until dark." was Mark's reply...while I wined and begged to go NOW!

FINALLY, in the SUV we went...the anxiety of not knowing if it would be there or not was torture! Oh YES!...YES...YES! there it was, STILL there...me pulling off to the side of the road (skidding to a hault)while Mark had his door half open..."Pop the hatch Karen, hurry up!" I didn't realize that this thing wold almost fill the entire back of my vehicle!

Oh look at her, I can't wait to fix her up. I think it's going to need new wood on the roof...broken china mosaics perhaps?

"Hmmmm, smells like little tiny birdies!" My dog Missy loves chasing birds, she NEVER catches any though.

"What birdie? I didn't eat NO birdie!" ( :

I promise to show you a picture of it when I'm done!
Have a wonderful Pink Saturday, I won't be participating this week...miss you all!

Happy Pink Saturday...Sweet Pink Pillows!

Happy Pink Saturday!
Please click on the Pink Saturday link on my side bar and visit our host for Pink Saturday, Beverly at How Sweet the Sound. Thanks Beverly for hosting such a fun event every weekend!

I've been really busy the past few days in my workroom after returning home from my longest yardsale "vacation"...visit my yardsale post below for MANY great pictures!

New things, they're old, but new to me ( : always puts creative excitement in my step...which is a good thing!

Here is a pretty pink rose needle point pillow that I made from a framed picture that my mom found (you can see it in my yardsale pics in the post below)...

Another pretty pink cross stitch that was originally in a frame...

I LOVE vintage postcards, especially Holiday ones!

A "shabby rustic" sign that I handpainted, I still need to add the hanger to the back...

I found these lovely finger-tip tea towels last year at Ross, bought every single one too! I made most of them into tea or coffee cup cozies with fresh lavender inside...they smell really yummy when the heat from a hot cup warms the lavender!

Have a wonderful Pink Saturday and a lovely weekend!

Please visit my Yardsale post below, two free single playing card images from my original Lady Baltimore playing card deck for my bloggie buddies!

We're Back!...World's Longest Yardsale Finds & Pics...

We're back and I have PLENTY of pictures for you!
My hubby and I had a WONDERFUL time, this was our first longest yardsale vacation and it was WELL worth it! We decided to choose one state, thank goodness, because we really didn't get through half of it... we chose Kentucky.

Mark hitched up our 24ft cargo trailer to the truck and away we went...

The sale ran from Aug. 5th -8th...we decided to start on the 6th, figuring that there would be more on Friday than on Thursday, from what we were told. We headed to the bottom of K.Y. close to the border of T.N.

I apologize in advance, I admit, I forgot my camera on the truck seat many times in my frenzied EXCITED haste to flee to awaiting front lawns! ( :

As soon as Mark turned on to 127, my eyes popped... the choirs sang...behold, I was in my glory!

and on and on, as far as the eyes could see, it was YARDSALE HEAVEN!
look at all the vintage buttons, lots of vintage sewing supplies under this tent!

Hmmmm...what would they look like painted pink??...NOT!

"Hey Mark, I DARE you to try them on for $20.00"...saved by the "cell"...that phone is going to stick there one of these days!

There were carnivals and fairs too...

My dad collects vintage lanterns, I mean HE COLLECTS VINTAGE LANTERNS...has HUNDREDS of them! BUT, I FOUND five that he DID NOT have...in my dad's words when I called,..."That's
where the GOOD OL'E BOYS are, GOOD OL'E BOY country!" I'm thrilled that I was able to add to my dad's collection. Now that's a habit I don't mind supporting!

It was a long, but fun trip, we didn't quite fill the trailer, but I bought MANY great finds and I'll show them to you in my next set of pictures.

First of all, my hubby Mark is the best...the patience of a Saint! It's a wonderful feeling when you have a husband, partner & friend that has the same interests and likes as you do. I CAN BE, more than I like to admit, over-bearing, pushy, picky, winey...he puts up with me. I'm greatful and blessed to have him by my side, LOVE YOU!

NOW, the big reveal!

MY favorite item from the entire trip...LOVED this vanity as soon as I saw it! Not to mention the price was RIGHT...$30.00!

Here's an overview of all my goodies...

Nice $5.00 coffee table!

Traincase, metal cracker caddy and a complet set of Lady Baltimore Sasparilla advertisement playing cards...check at the end of this post for a giveaway!

All the crochet table cloths and doilies I bought for 50. each...last day sale! Loved this lamp too!

Two sewing drawers, plates for my mosaics and vintage rose Avon containers!

Fabrics and vintage wooden LARGE spools that I plan on making into hat stands!

LOVE vintage postcards! These are from 1908-1910...While I was in Kenturcky, my Mom was at a local town-wide yardsale...she always finds the BEST "STUFF" things that I need or I'm looking for...Mom always seems to find them! My Mom and her friend Barbara...thanks for the pillowcases Barbara!!...found alot of great things...

Sweet lamps...

Pretty vintage pillowcases for my pillowcase dresses!

A bag of glass prisms for my shabby chandeliers...

Thanks again Mom!!

I would like to include a few tips that I learned to make your trip a bit easier if you plan on attending next years world's longest yardsale.

~Bring a cooler with ice and drinks, especially water.~

~Pick a state, don't try to do more than you can, there's always next year.~

~Add up the mileage on 127 bottom of state to top of state. Allow about 12-15 miles a day and make your motel reservations at the end of every 20-25 miles. You can always cancel reservations or back-track to sales.~

~Bring sun screen, wear sneakers, and wear a sun viser.~

~*~Lady Baltimore Cards~*~

I'm SEPERATING my set of playing cards and offering one of each image FREE to my blogger buddies! Just email me your address at Lynallen2@hughes.net if you want to keep your address private or comment below with your address included and I will mail you out one (single card) of each image while supplies last! These are GREAT pictures to use with Photo Shop Pro, very clean and clear images for pillows or put them in a small frame!

**You will receive 2 single playing cards, 1 pink image and 1 yellow image of the girls from my set that I'm breaking up, until each card from my two decks are dispursed.**
